  • Heathers: Teen Edition is a specially licensed version of the Off-Broadway hit that has been revised for teen performers and audiences. While it keeps the same high-energy music and storyline, the language and themes have been edited to remove mature content that is not age-appropriate. Sensitive topics are still addressed, but in a way that is responsible, developmentally appropriate, and suitable for a school or community theatre setting.

  • Yes. Every student who enrolls will be cast. We typically have multiple casts, which gives performers the chance to gain experience in both ensemble and featured/lead roles.

  • Heathers: Teen Edition is an advanced program and requires prior theatre or performance experience. Students should be prepared for dedicated rehearsals and higher expectations than in our recreational program.

For those seeking a recreational program to learn and explore theatre, we recommend enrolling in our afterschool production of Beauty and the Beast Jr. (K–12).

  • Auditions take place during the first week of rehearsal. Students should come prepared with a song and a monologue. Casting decisions are based on skill, ability, maturity, and audition performance.

Students are also welcome to join us on Monday, January 6 for our Audition Workshop ($75). This full-day session provides the chance to work one-on-one with Mrs. Burchfield, fine-tune your audition pieces, and gain extra confidence before casting begins.

  • Transportation requires advance planning and a 1-month minimum commitment.

If you opt into transportation, your route will be reserved and charged beginning Jan 1, and we cannot offer a trial period for this service.

Cancel anytime after the first month with 3 weeks’ notice.

  • We understand life happens! Occasional absences are fine. We just ask for notice ASAP so we can plan accordingly! For extended illnesses, we may offer partial credit with a doctor’s note.

All you need to do is add a credit or debit card and save it on file—that’s the card we’ll use to process your monthly tuition.

  • Refunds & Schedule Changes

    • The $275 deposit is non-refundable.

    • If you cancel before the program begins, we will refund any tuition paid beyond the deposit (or cancel future payments if you’re on the monthly plan).

    • After the first day of rehearsal, tuition is non-refundable, except in rare cases of documented medical emergencies

  • Because Heathers: Teen Edition is an advanced program with a set rehearsal schedule (Mondays & Wednesdays 5:30–8:00 PM, and Saturdays 11:00 AM–2:00 PM), attendance is required on all three rehearsal days. Students who cannot commit to this schedule will not be able to participate in Heathers.

For families who need more flexibility, we recommend enrolling in Beauty and the Beast Jr. (K–12), which offers a recreational theatre experience with more scheduling options (choose rehearsal days Mon-Sat).

  • General admission tickets are $15 and will be available for purchase at burchfieldtheatre.com/tickets shortly after casting is finalized. Seating is limited, so advance purchase is strongly encouraged. Parents will receive early access to purchase tickets and will be notified by email before sales open to the public.
